We recently visited Myers Park High School and Head Football Coach Scott Chadwick, and this is a team loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. The Mustangs had a great season last year ended in the state semifinals, and Chadwick states that the loss has motivated his team all offseason long. Chadwick shares that they have had a great offseason, and they simply have one goal this season, and that is a State Championship.
The key to the Mustangs success this year will be how fast the offensive line can come together, as they only have one starter returning, however in my observations during my visit, they definitely have the size up front to get it done, so it would not surprise me to see the Mustangs right there once again, deep in the playoffs with a shot to win it all.
We spoke with 4 players during our visit - QB Drake Maye, who has committed to the University of Alabama, S Cameron Roseman-Sinclair, who has committed to the University of North Carolina, WR Porter Rooks, who has committed to NC State University, and LG Parker Mendenhall, the lone OL returning starter. Please enjoy those interviews below, and look for much more coverage from the Mustangs as the season goes along!
