Harding Rams Win Second Game in Short Week

The Harding Rams trounced the Garinger Wildcats 69 to 8 for their second game in just one week.

The very beginning of the game showed promise of a shootout thanks to an interception by Garinger’s Jah Overby that turned into a quick eight for their offense. But the Rams had a different agenda.

Harding’s offense, led by senior quarterback, Jarret Robinson, put on an offensive clinic the rest of the game. They went on to score 69 unanswered points and left Garinger scratching their heads trying to figure out how to stop them. Robinson connected with multiple receivers including Tyquez Johnson and Yashiya Freeman.

Defense didn’t disappoint either as Tylon Dunlap came up with key plays of his own including sacking Garinger quarterback, Elias Bethea.

The game got chippy at times—partially due to the lopsided score—but both teams were able to maintain themselves as the game went on.

There are so many questions left for the Wildcats to answer as they prepare to take on the Hawks of West Meck. The Hawks won a defensive battle against West Charlotte but look to improve on their spread-type offense. Can the Wildcats contain them for another week?

The Harding Rams face West Charlotte—call it the battle of the maroon and gold. Harding is pumping on all cylinders with offense and defense working well together. West Charlotte has fallen to 1-1 so look for them to play inspired football. Can the Rams improve to 3-0?

Kickoff for both games at 7 p.m.
